My best friend is ENGAGED!! On a normal day, I love my job. But when it’s my best friend’s anniversary session and her boyfriend asks her to marry him, it’s the best job in the world! Yesterday on their three year anniversary Justin (who’s a welder) had welded a sign that said “Marry Me?” and was texting me about how nervous he was. He had gotten the ring months ago but wanted to wait for the perfect moment to pop the question and this was definitely it. We used Jenna’s little sister as the distraction. Julia is 10 and crafted them an anniversary present so she tagged along with me to their shoot to give it to them. She played along perfectly - insisting that they be blindfolded so they didn’t peak at the gift and when Jenna took her blindfold off, Justin was down on one knee :)

She said YES!! Jenna was so caught up in the magic and romance of this moment that it took her a few minutes to realize that her entire family (almost) was standing there watching. She was sooooo happy when she saw them - her genuine reaction make these some of my favorite photos ever! Sharing a moment like this with the people you love is irreplaceable.

Justin started orchestrating this perfect moment almost 10 months ago. He messaged me right before New Year’s and said “let’s do this!” and it was the hardest secret to keep EVER! He had so many plans and beautiful ideas for how he wanted to surprise her and he really pulled it off. Her nails were done, her makeup & hair were perfect and when he got down on one knee he said her full name. I totally cried.
